Luís Farinha holds a PhD in management (with thesis entitled "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Networks as Global Competitiveness Drivers"). He is Vice-President and Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB), Portugal, and Associate Researcher at the NECE – Research Center in Business Sciences (University of Beira Interior-UBI), in Portugal. He is Vice President of InovCluster - Association of the Center's agrifood cluster, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CATAA - Association Center for Technological Agro-food Support of Castelo Branco, in Portugal. He is an evaluator of innovation projects by ANI - Portuguese Innovation Agency and he is member of the national network of mentors of the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (IAPMEI StartUP Voucher). His research on entrepreneurship has been presented at numerous international conferences and published in high-quality international journals. His research interests include entrepreneurial economics, economic geography and business economics. He is Founder and Dean of the Regional Helix – International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development. He was a founding partner of two companies involved in the exploitation of renewable energies. He is a mentor for master's and doctoral students in areas that aim to link academia-industry and regional ecosystems of entrepreneurship.
